Let us pray.

‘Dear Lord, thank you for the USDA and its unrestricted willingness to blow millions of taxpayer dollars in order to save us all from ever again having to decipher the laminated food pyramid chart most of us carry in our wallets, or purses, at meal time. Amen.’

(Brow BeatAfter five years, six committee meetings, much ballyhooing, and $2 million, the U.S. Department of Agriculture at last released to the public yesterday a logo to replace its famous food pyramid. Called “Choose My Plate,” the new design is a dinner-plate-like circle divided into four pie-slice-shaped pieces to represent the four food groups (fruits, vegetables, grains, and protein), and another little circle off to the side for your discretionary daily dairy portion.

Aside from the logo’s near uselessness as a dietary-information-conveying tool — Is it a pie chart? How much does each portion represent? And why is the protein purple? — the candy-colored design itself fails to be aesthetically exciting. In fact, as I look at the bottom of my computer screen, I see the Microsoft Windows logo and the Google Chrome logo, just two of Choose My Plate’s döppelgangers.

Naturally, the USDA flat-out rejected Sad Hill’s MyPlate logo submission even though its development required significantly more planning and effort. Pfffffft…

‘Dear Lord, forgive Sad Hill for what he is about to post. Amen.’

BREAKING UPDATE (06.05.2011 – hat tip ‘Hot Tips’)

Obama Wolfs Down 2 Chili Dogs And Fries 1 Day After Michelle Unveils New Dietary Guide

(Daily Caller) When his wife unveiled the USDA’s new nutritional plate yesterday, there definitely wasn’t a space for chili dogs.

But that didn’t stop Barack Obama wolfing down two in Toledo today – with fries and an extra bowl of chili on the side.

The president happily munched on the unhealthy meal before he visited the city’s Chrysler factory, and even teased one of his hosts for ordering ketchup, a faux-pas in his home town of Chicago.

That is so cute. And I charge $100 to $1,000 for a logo, depending on how unable a client is to choose a design. I guess the gov’t really couldn’t choose one.

I can work cheaper because I don’t have a wife and kids to support of my own, and by making less I don’t have to pay as much in taxes to support those in our society who will not support their children.

The poster with PRESIDENT OBAMA is just awful!!! It is so sad that you have such a pitiful life that all you have time to do is try to discredit the President of the United States. He is human and has likes and dislikes just like the rest of us. LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!!!!!! How can we teach our youth to respect themselves and others when adults like you act so childish? Grow up and get a life, a real job, and learn how to respect those who have “rule” over you.
