A song of hope released not long after September 11, 2001. Video by Sad Hill:
New York City
here’s a song for the heroes
who were braver than I could ever be
love for their families
who are grieving but not alone
new york city is crying
new york city is down on her knees
new york city is praying
together with you
here’s a song for the missing
every loved one who still can’t be found
love for their families
who in sorrow are not alone
new york city is standing by you
new york city is down on her knees
new york city is praying
together with you
may our voices rise to “split the sky…
and let the face of God shine through”
can we push the clouds of fear apart
and rest our sadness on Thy heart
new york city is trying
new york city is down on her knees
new york city is praying
together with you

YouTube and Google are fudging the hit counter again. It’s ‘stuck’ at 305. We understand Google. This video paints Obama in poor light:

UPDATE (03.23.2011): (Zip) Hillary Clinton, ‘If the administration believes that any, any use of force against Iran is necessary, the president must come to Congress to seek that authority.’
UPDATE (03.23.2011): Youtube, owned by Google, freezing viewcount on viral video of Vice President Joe Biden?
Sad Hill noticed the Joe Biden YouTube video counter stuck for hours at 140,000 hits (still is, for now), so a search was performed. Guess CNS News noticed the ‘discrepancy’, too:
(CNS News) YouTube says the view counter on a video clip that is linked to the highly popular Drudge Report has stopped–at the implausibly low number of 301–because YouTube is following its standard procedure for preventing ”artificial inflation” of the video’s viewcount and ensuring that all viewers that are counted are actual people and not computer programs.
The Drudge-linked video is a clip of then-Sen. Joe Biden appearing on MSNBC’s “Hardball” and telling host Chris Matthews that he stands by his assertion that it would have been an impeachable offense for then-President George W. Bush to attack Iran without prior congressional authorization. Biden states in the clip that were Bush to attack Iran without congressional authorization he would “lead an effort to impeach him.”
The Drudge Report, which has millions of readers, had a link to the video at the very top of its page for awhile this morning. Later, the link to the clip was moved down to a spot in the Report’s left hand column. Nonetheless, the view counter on the YouTube page hosting the video was frozen implausibly at 301 hits.
“Rest assured that the views system is working as intended, and that the viewcount will update as soon as the system has verified the legitimacy of the views.”
Oh stop worrying Google! We all trust you, 100%, and understand ‘StreetView‘ happens.
UPDATE (03.29.2011): Biden, ‘I will impeach him!’

Classic gun spinning by Sammy Davis Jr. while he sings, ‘Streets of Loredo’ — all from an era when entertainers had talent and weren’t afraid to use it.
Imagine the ‘horror’ of Sammy giving his friends a preview of his act in a Walmart parking lot, today. Bye bye Sammy.

That’s it! I’m going homeless or hitting the projects, but not without Cher, Wi-Fi, my video camera and a YouTube account.
Alabama projects-dweller, Antoine Dodson, who warned an intruder that broke into his apartment and wound up in his sister’s bed, just got his own reality television show after his WAFF-TV ‘breaking news’ interview was AutoTuned.
(wrap.com) Hide your kids, hide your wife: Antoine Dodson — star of the viral smash “Bed Intruder” — is shooting a reality TV show pilot.
The pilot, produced by Entertainment One, will follow Dodson and his family as they relocate to Hollywood from Alabama’s Lincoln Park Projects — made famous by a local news report in which Dodson delivered a spirited warning to a man who invaded his sister’s room.
Through the magic of AutoTune and a remix by the Gregory Brothers, it became a musical masterpiece and YouTube sensation.
Scott MacFadyen, a rep for Entertainment One, says the pilot will be about Dodson ‘leveraging every aspect he can to make a better life for his family’.”
~snip~
“Bed Intruder” has been viewed more than 67 million times, and sales of the song on iTunes helped Dodson move his family out of the projects. He later appeared on the BET Awards and inspired scores of imitators on Halloween.
Here’s the original interview pre-AutoTune:

A promise to cut $100 billion from the national budget that Republican leaders made in their Pledge To America – a goal which has already been reduced to $50 billion (ahem) – is being challenged by Rand Paul and Ron Paul who are working on a much ‘more ambitious’ bill that would cut nearly $500 billion.
During the ABC News interview with George Stephanopoulos, Rand Paul reminds America that four years ago Senator Obama voted against extending the debt ceiling because ‘our leaders were being irresponsible and not cutting spending.’
‘I don’t see this entirely as a budgetary problem, I see this as a philosophy of government problem.’ — Ron Paul
~
Here’s one of the better critiques I found on the Pledge To America:
(Doug Ross) There’s [...] plenty of fluff, with anecdotes and quotes and lengthy paragraphs that morph into meaningless mush.
Consider the summary of the GOP pledge:
• We will fight to ensure transparency and accountability in Congress and throughout government. [Platitude]
• We will continue to fight the growth of government and oppose new stimulus spending that only puts our nation further in debt. [Platitude]
• We will fight efforts to fund the costly new health care law. [Feh]
• We will fight to increase access to domestic energy sources and oppose attempts to impose a national “cap and trade” energy tax. [Okay, barely]
• We will fight for the rights of workers and oppose “card check” schemes that put union bosses before individuals’ right to a secret ballot. [Okay, barely]
• We will fight efforts to use a national crisis for political gain. [I have no idea what this means]
Reps. Boehner, Cantor, Ryan and other members of the GOP, you could have come to me for the one-page pledge. It would read as follows:
We pledge that every action we take will be gauged by the answer to a single question: Does it show fidelity to the Constitution, our highest law?
With that as our guide, we solemnly pledge the following as our first actions:
• We will repeal the Democrat health care bill and, if vetoed by the President, will de-fund every aspect of that bill until such time as the American people have input into a sensible health care reform process.
• We will slash the size of the federal government bureaucracies (Commerce, Education, Energy, the EPA, Labor, etc.) by 20% in 2011 with a goal of reducing each by 50% over the next three years, thereby saving hundreds of billions of dollars.
• We will secure the border with physical fencing suitable to repel drug smugglers, human smugglers, and terrorists, while encouraging legal immigration and enforcement of the law.
• We will confront the entitlement crisis — Social Security and Medicare — by preserving benefits for those who depend upon them and moving to privatized options for younger workers. Anything less condemns future generations to mountains of debt and economic catastrophe.
• We will strengthen our armed forces, space and missile defense programs to retain our unparalleled superpower status.
• We will begin the process of paying down our debts, spending within our means every year.
• We will ban public sector unions, which exist solely to wage war against the taxpayers who fund their operations.
Put simply: we intend to adhere to a strict interpretation of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Faith, Family, and the Founding. That is our creed.
And for your support and with a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.

Mayor Bloomberg says, ‘Obama the most arrogant man I ever met’: HERE
Sick from all the hope and change, BoldProgressives.org, on behalf of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC), posted another anti-Obama advertisement on YouTube. This one directs viewers to ActBlue.com, a donation site supporting the cost of airing ‘Obama’s Conscience‘ on television in Washington DC and Indiana. The ad shows Obama delivering one of his 2008 campaign promises.
(Politico) – [The ad] blasts Obama for appearing to break his promise not to continue Bush-era tax policies.
“He’s promising four more years of tax cuts for CEOs,” Obama said of Sen. John McCain R-Ariz. in the clip, which comes from an April 2008 rally in Indiana. “Tax cuts that he once voted against because he said they offended his conscience. Well they may have stopped offending John McCains conscience somewhere along the road to the White House.
“But George Bush’s economic policies still offend my conscience and they still offend yours,” Obama added, to cheers.
The screen then goes black and PCCC’s text cuts in: “If Obama won’t fight for his promise, Congress needs to.
”It’s the second TV ad the group has released in the past two weeks that uses Obama’s own words from his 2008 campaign to criticize his willingness to compromise on tax cuts for the rich.
Whoever made the ad forgot to include the ‘I’m exhausted of defending you‘ clip:
