President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20500

Dear Mr. President:

We write today in response to a speech given on November 10, 2010, at the Universityof Indonesia in Jakarta, Indonesia, in which you stated “But I believe that the history of both Americaand Indonesia should give us hope. It is a story written into our national mottos. In the United States, our motto is E pluribus unum – out of many one … our nations show that hundreds of millions who hold different beliefs can be united in freedom under one flag.”

E pluribus unum is not our national motto. In 1956, Congress passed and President Eisenhower approved the law establishing ‘In God We Trust’ as the official national motto of the United States. This motto is also referenced in our national anthem and is engraved on our coins and currency.

Additionally, during three separate events tlus fall, when quoting from the Declaration of Independence, you mentioned that we have inalienable rights, but consistently failed to mention the source of the rights. The Declaration of Independence definitively recognizes God, our Creator, as the source of our rights. Omitting the word ‘Creator’ once was a mistake; but twice establishes a pattern. In your speech in Indonesia, you mentioned being unified under one flag. The Pledge of Allegiance to our flag says thatat we are “one nation under God.” As President of the Uruted States, you are our representative to the rest of the world. By misrepresenting things as foundational as the Declaration of Independence and our national motto, you are not only doing a disservice to the people you represent you are casting aside an integral part of American society.

Johm Adams said, “It is religion and morality alone, which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand.” If Adams was right, by making these kinds of statement to the rest of the worls, you are removing one of the cornerstones of our secure freedom. If we pull the thread of religious conviction out of the marketplace of ideas, weunravel the tapestry of freedom that birthed America.

As members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, a bi-partisan group of 68 Members of the United States House of Representatives, we are dedicated to preserving America’s religious heritage and protecting our religious liberty. We respectively request that you issue a correction to the speech you gave, as it does nit accurately reflect America and serves to undercut an important part of our history. We are willing to meet with you to discuss thus further if you would like. As President Ronald Reagan warned, “If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”

Sincerely,

He’s such a “rah-rah” speaker--a well trained union guy!!! He’s doing nothing in the above video but continually blaming the Republicans for EVERYTHING that’s failed. He doesn’t state that WE THE PEOPLE stopped that bill he mentioned that McCain and Kennedy were involved in. We wrote letters/e-mails and called to make sure this doesn’t pass. The Dream Act didn’t make it either. What’s up with giving benefits to illegals (ALL, not just Latino) that people living here and being citizens cannot even get? It’s just not right!!!!!

All he’s doing is making a campaign speech and standing there criticizing other parties. He’s talking about disclosing campaign money--he wouldn’t disclose and no one knows where his came from.

DON’T FORGET WHO YOUR FRIENDS ARE. Yeah--right--VOTE FOR ME — “BIG O.” Isn’t the election two years away? I didn’t know that everyone was campaigning already.

If the Federal Government would do its job, the state of AZ wouldn’t have had to try to do something. Obama is NOT doing his job!!!!!

Two other quotes from John Adams:

“Banks have done more injury to the religion, morality, tranquility, prosperity, and even wealth of the nation then they can have or ever will do good.”

“This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it.”

I just wasted 24 minutes of my life watching and listening to that fool.

WAY TO GO CONGRESS for sending a letter of reprimand to the President. Remind him that he is not the “KING” or “DICTATOR.” Remind Obamalamadindong that he is here to represent this country and therefore must do so correctly. Now, everyone send that letter out to everyone they can… get it noticed and make it an issue for Obama to face up to.

UGH…. I can’t even put what I want to say in words because I just despise this man on every level of being. There are so many things that he has NOT done. I can’t believe that so many people were fooled by this idiot and continue to be fooled by him. They say his ratings are going up too which is quite frustrating. Who do these polls even reach? Oh yea… they only send the polls to their supporters… SMH! I keep forgetting that we are playing children’s games here.

WE SHOULD CALL FOR A NATIONAL PUSH TO FORCE HIM TO RESPOND TO THE LETTER. How can he just blow off a letter from Congress? Who does he think he is? He needs to take that letter seriously. He can’t just address Congress either… he must address it in front of the nation. He needs to step up and admit that he has been twisting the words of the Constitution to suit himself. He thinks he can get away with it because he doesn’t think the American people are smart enough to catch him. He thinks he can get away with it because the majority of the media outlets are owned and run by liberals who only report what they want everyone to hear. Who listens to them… all of the liberal supporters. The few media outlets that aren’t liberal owned and operated and made out to be demons and again… who hears that? The liberal supporters whom I also like to refer to as lemmings… aimlessly following the uninformed.

With all that said, I do honestly think that the Demoncrats (oops… did I spell that wrong?) are in for a big surprise in the next election. People are fed up with the crap and want change. The only way the Dems will win again is if everyone forgets that this Republican Majority Congress inherited a whole bunch of crap from the Dems as they were leaving so its going to take time to undo all of the idiotic things the Dems pushed through. If the American people who called for this change can hang on and remember that the Republicans are doing what they can but are hampered by the Democrat Majority Senate, then this country stands a chance at getting back to the basics of our forefathers. So basically, we all have to remember that the Republicans are stuck between a rock and a hard place right now so change will come but it will be slow.

The liberals are saying that O will have an easy walk right back in to office in 2012 because the Republicans don’t have any good candidates. I think that depends on your definition of good. At this point, I think “GOOD” means anyone but Obama. Say what you want about Sarah Palin but I like her. She shoots straight from the hip. She has more political experience than Obama had going into the election. She was one of the most effective Governors in Alaska. Sure, she had some dissent out there but no one is ever going to be liked by everyone. There will always be some group who is against someone in office. Overall, she was well liked and again, one of the most efficient and effective Governors in that state’s history. She isn’t as “dingy” as the liberal press made her out to be. I like the fact that she is far enough removed from the political crap in DC that she still sees the big picture for the country. Just my opinion… I am entitled to it whether you deem it right or wrong. There may be other candidates out there that are better suited for running and that is fine… bring them on… just get Obama out!

As for immigration… Arizona is not the only state that has taken a stand. Arizona wasn’t even the first to make a stand. It was Missouri in 2007. Check out Missouri’s laws on immigration at this link or Google it yourself…. http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/opinion/article_277ef4d0-7b51-11df-ba73-001cc4c002e0.html.

Missouri is more strict than Arizona yet Arizona is being singled out. Why? Its obvious… Arizona borders Mexico, Missouri does not. The problem in Arizona is 100 times worse than in Missouri. The illegals in Arizona are numerous and therefore brazen enough to hold public demonstrations. In Missouri, they aren’t out there with picket signs but it is still a big enough problem for Missouri that they passed laws to take a stand against it thus preventing it from becoming a bigger issue. Missouri and Arizona are doing what all states need to do because the Federal Government isn’t doing anything and as long as Obama is in office, they won’t because he wants open borders. FYI… Mississippi is now working on passing their own anti-immigration laws. With immigration being a big topic for many legislators, I think/hope/pray we see more and more states take steps in this direction especially if the Feds won’t do anything. California voters passed prop 187 in 1994. Five years of fighting the Fed, they gave up. The federal judge said, “”California is powerless to enact its own legislative scheme to regulate immigration. It is likewise powerless to enact its own legislative scheme to regulate alien access to public benefits.”

I am a proud American and disgusted by this motto and the Congress for trying to continue to misrepresent us as a country of God.
The declaration has nothing to do with our Constitution (which is the law of the land). The declaration says Creator, not God. My Creator was my parents, end of story.
While our Constitution protects people to worship whatever imaginary friend they choose, it also protects those who are intelligent enough to know that God or Gods are man made and don’t exist.
Additionally, our constitution never mentions the word “God”, and only mentions religion twice, both in an exclusionary way. The only reason God was added to our motto in the 1950′s was out of ignorance and fear of Communism. It was a religious movement made by religious nuts who saw an opportunity to push their beliefs on the country out of fear and stupidity.
We have American Hindus, Buddhists, Atheists, and Muslims, and many other people in this country who have been completely ignored. For a polytheistic Hindu, they would say “In Gods we trust”, or a Buddhist “In Buddha we trust’, An atheist “I trust myself” or Muslims “In Allah we trust”.
I personally applaud President Obama who recognizes the diversity of Americans and excludes no one. As opposed to the writers and signers of this letter who obviously are making a point to exclude close to 100 million Americans who don’t live by their motto, but are good people and good Americans.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”
“no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States”
Obviously, these congressman only seek to continue to use the constitution as toilet paper for their true agenda, appeasing their christian voters to remain in power and push their beliefs in ancient myths on others who have wised up and realized this life is the only one you get.
