Oklahoma wasted no time after the elections sending a clear message to Muslims everywhere. Better Sooner than later… OK, bad joke. Anyway, recognizing immense global efforts to boost Muslim-majority countries, The Sooner State quickly drew a line in the sand.

(DailyMail) Central US state of Oklahoma is to become the first state in the US to ban Islamic sharia law.

That’s the result of a voter initiative in the state that passed by a heavy majority in the midterm election on Tuesday night.

State Question 755 amends the Oklahoma constitution to forbid courts in Oklahoma from considering sharia law or international law in reaching their decisions. With more than 60 per cent of precincts counted more than 70 per cent of voters had approved the measure, according to the Secretary of State’s website.

The measure was proposed by Republican State Representative Rex Duncan who said he was inspired to propose the constitutional amendment even though there have been no cases in Oklahoma in which judges had relied on international or sharia law.

‘I would describe this as a pre-emptive strike,’ he said. ‘We don’t want to let it get a toe-hold.’

Local Muslims said it was an example of anti-Muslim bigotry. ‘There’s no threat of sharia law coming to Oklahoma and America, period,’ Saad Mohammed of the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City said. ‘It’s just a scare tactic.’

In theory, if sharia law is ‘no threat’ to Oklahoma or America, then banning sharia law should be ‘no problem’ for the Muslim community. Perhaps Americans and voters living in Oklahoma got wind in late October of President Barack Hussein Obama’s ‘hush-hush’ authorization letter to congress announcing an additional 80,000 ‘refugees,’ mostly from Islamic countries, resettling throughout the United States in 2011.

(Canada Free) Mr. Obama says that the increase in Muslim immigrants “is justified by humanitarian concerns or is otherwise in the national interest.”

Refugee Resettlement Watch and other organizations have expressed grave concern that Mr. Obama is allowing so many immigrants into the country while so many Americans remain out of work and living in poverty.

According to the US Department of Labor, 14.8 million Americans remain unemployed. 6.1 million have been out of work for 27 weeks or over.

This figure has been challenged by the Union of the Unemployed who provide statistics that the actual number of unemployed Americans is 31 million.

According to Section 413 (a) of the Immigration and Nationalities Act, the Office of Refugee Resettlement is required to submit an annual report to Congress on the activities of the refugees.

The report is supposed to include the number who are on public welfare programs.

But no report has forthcoming from the Office of Refugee Resettlement since 2007.
